A few years ago, i had cataract surgery and everything went great, my vision was clear and sharp afterward. Lately though, things have started getting cloudy again , and at my last checkup, the doctor recommended a YAG capsulotomy to clear it up. Im just wondering if anyone else has had this done and if it helped at all. How was the experience?

My aunt had a YAG capsulotomy about a year after her cataract surgery, I was younger at the time but I remember her procedure was quick and painless according to her, I lived with her after it and her vision cleared up noticeably within a day or two

Thanks for sharing, thats reassuring to hear. Do you know if she needed any special drops or follow-up care after the procedure , or was it just a pretty straightforward recovery?

I really do think YAG capsulotomy is overprescribed, most people's cloudy visio after cataract surgery could improve naturally, but doctors push lasers too quickly, profiting off minor issues that might resolve on their own.
